Compost Tea Induces Growth and Resistance against Rhizoctonia solani and Phytophthora capsici in Pepper

چکیده

Compost teas (CTs) are organic solutions that constitute an interesting option for sustainable agriculture. Those come from garden waste have been applied in vitro and vivo on pepper plants to determine its suppressive effect against both Phytophthora capsici Rhizoctonia solani. The studied CT showed relevant content NO3?, K2O, humic acids, microorganisms such as aerobic bacteria, N-fixing actinobacteria, which play a role plant growth resistance. This rich abundance of microbiota the induced reduction relative rate P. R. solani (31.7% 38.0%, respectively) assays compared control. In addition, CT-irrigated displayed increased parameters first open flower one week before those treatments without CTs, suggests application advanced crop cycle. Concerning pathogen infection, damage caused by pathogens became more apparent with one-week inoculation four-week inoculation, may indicate microbiological chemical balance had reached cope biotic stresses. Based these results, we conclude induces defense because soluble nutrient richness, provides novel point nutrition protection horticultural crops.

Biocontrol of Phytophthora Blight and Anthracnose in Pepper by Sequentially Selected Antagonistic Rhizobacteria against Phytophthora capsici

We previously developed a sequential screening procedure to select antagonistic bacterial strains against Phytophthora capsici in pepper plants. In this study, we used a modified screening procedure to select effective biocontrol strains against P. capsici; we evaluated the effect of selected strains on Phytophthora blight and anthracnose occurrence and fruit yield in pepper plants under field ...

BABA and Phytophthora nicotianae Induce Resistance to Phytophthora capsici in Chile Pepper (Capsicum annuum)

Induced resistance in plants is a systemic response to certain microorganisms or chemicals that enhances basal defense responses during subsequent plant infection by pathogens. Inoculation of chile pepper with zoospores of non-host Phytophthora nicotianae or the chemical elicitor beta-aminobutyric acid (BABA) significantly inhibited foliar blight caused by Phytophthora capsici. Tissue extract a...

Rhizospheric Bacillus subtilis Exhibits Biocontrol Effect against Rhizoctonia solani in Pepper (Capsicum annuum)

This study aimed at evaluating the ability of SL-44 to control Rhizoctonia solani and promote pepper (Capsicum annuum) growth. Strain SL-44 was isolated from plant rhizosphere and the pot experiment results indicated that the dry and fresh weights of pepper in SL-44 and Rhizoctonia solani (S-R) treatment were 45.5% and 54.2% higher than those in Rhizoctonia solani (R) treatment and 18.2% and 31...

Characteristic of the Pepper CaRGA2 Gene in Defense Responses against Phytophthora capsici Leonian

The most significant threat to pepper production worldwide is the Phytophthora blight, which is caused by the oomycete pathogen, Phytophthora capsici Leonian. In an effort to help control this disease, we isolated and characterized a P. capsici resistance gene, CaRGA2, from a high resistant pepper (C. annuum CM334) and analyzed its function by the method of real-time PCR and virus-induced gene ...

Resistance of pepper germplasm to Phytophthora capsici isolates collected in northwest Spain

One single pathotype (race 0) was identified among eight tested isolates of Phytophthora capsici (Leonian) collected in northwest Spain, after inoculation tests using pepper cultivars of different origin, including the well known reference resistant cultivar Serrano Criollo de Morelos 334. Complete resistance to P. capsici was not found after the inoculation of 23 local genotypes of Capsicum an...
